Marvel by the Month

#061: Pre-MCU Movie Night (w/Katie Pryde of Books With Pictures) - X-Men (2000)

Episode Summary

Happy Pride Month! We made it just under the wire! Our special guest for this episode is Katie Pryde, proprietress of Portland's own Books With Pictures, a comics shop designed from the ground up to be LGBTQ/POC/women/newbie-friendly and inviting to all (even old nerds like us). While we prep Season 4, Katie was kind enough to make time to talk about 2000's X-Men for the second of our pre-MCU Marvel movie bonus episodes. How does the film that relaunched the superhero blockbuster hold up? What didn't age quite as well? And what does happen to a toad when it gets hit by lightning? Listen and find out!
