NEW LISTENERS START HERE! The Marvel Age of Comics began in November 1961 with Fantastic Four #1. Nearly two years later, Marvel Comics had introduced most of its first wave of iconic characters, including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and (ugh) Ant-Man. This episode recaps Season 1 of Marvel By the Month (November 1961 - August 1963) and lets new listeners fast-forward through 18 episodes of two nerds taking a shockingly long time to figure out how microphones worked.
Note: We started out by titling these episodes with the coverdate (the date that's printed on the cover), but we switched to their newsstand dates (the dates they went on sale) around episode #50. The newsstand dates for this episode are August 1961 - June 1963.
